Mission Statement

Hello,

My name is Jonathan Kadish and my goal is to advance the field of Aquaponics to part of the solution to the world’s food shortages and also have a positive impact our energy problems. Humanity is on an unsustainable path of global destruction and depletion. Aquaponics can supply humanity with protein from fish and nutrition from plants. Nearly half of the petroleum used currently is used in the growing, transporting, storing and serving food. Aquaponics eliminates much of the need for energy intensive farming and inefficient transport. For every 1 calorie of food American’s eat 10 calories of energy is expended to produce it and deliver it – an extremely inefficient ratio. A small Aquaponics operation can produce thousands of pounds of organic fish and vegetables with just a few inexpensive of solar panels and batteries. With energy efficient greenhouses, fish and produce can be supplied year round even in northern climates.

So join me as I begin my journey into the future of food. Aquaponics may just save the planet. If your interested in joining me in having an impact in NYC leave a message here… I can’t do this alone, a lot of us will have to work very hard to have an impact.

    Hello Jonathan,
I have recently relocated in the New York area. I have been for a while looking to start a hydroponic farm, that was until I became acquainted with aquaponics. I would like to get in contact with you and join forces in spreading the message on one of the most important issue facing our planet today.

hope to hear from you soon.

    Hi Jonathan,

I have in the past amazed my friends by brewing my own beer and making wine in the space of a Manhattan studio.

I wonder, just how small can these systems get? I want to be able to raise fish big enough to eat, in a space about half of what your system uses. What do you think?

Hi my name is Ty and I’m a novice doing research but I’m interested in aquaponics as a business. I have a 1000 square foot backyard and I want to know if it’s feasible to start an aquaponics business there.

I was hoping maybe I could join a network of local aquaponic farmers thar service high end restaraunts and markets or start a network that could do just that.

I have some start up capital, a love of leafy greens and a marketing background.
Please contact me with any local resources you could provide
